Northmore features with GoodWeave

Our Rachel Parker designed Flock x FLOOR_STORY Northmore rug is one of our first to be GoodWeave certified. The GoodWeave campaign aims to end child labour in the rug making industry and is regarded as the model by which others follow.

As you may have learnt in our earlier designjunction preview story, Flock x FLOOR_STORY Northmore, is one of our most intricate designs to date and features an astounding 26 colours (most rugs feature 12 or less), testing every skill of our artisan makers. In fact, the complexity of the design really caught the eyes of the good folk at GoodWeave, who've featured Rachel's incredible design on their website, taking a detailed look at how it was created. Read Rachel's take on the story here.

It's no easy task getting a rug GoodWeave certified, as the process is stringent for very good reason. To ensure compliance, inspectors make unannounced visits and makers not meeting standards lose their GoodWeave status. We're firm believers in the principles of the organisation and carry out our own checks to make sure our makers achieve similar standards. We're sure that there will be more GoodWeave certified rugs joining the FLOOR_STORY family before too long.
