BESPOKE RUG GUIDE

Whether this is your first time designing your own rug or you want to understand what it’s like to work with us, we’ve outlined the steps and elements you’ll need to consider when designing your own rug below.

1_BUDGET

Always start by knowing what you want to spend on your custom rug. How much you’ve got to splash out on your rug will determine the yarns, techniques and qualities that are open to you. These can impact things like design, colours and texture, so it’s important to get this right at the beginning.

2_DESIGN

Once the budget is decided, you can start on the fun process of designing your bespoke rug. Here at Floor_Story we love seeing just what inspires our customers. Everything from a favourite picture, a colour palette, even textures and everyday objects; our designers will work with you to translate this feeling into a beautiful rug design. There’s just one rule: we will not copy another design under any circumstances.

3_COLOUR & TEXTURE

Unlock your creativity with colour, with more than 3000 wool poms to choose from, you’ll have the ability to create the perfect palette and match the colours of your bespoke rug to your interior setting. And if you can’t decide, we can colour match too! You can also add touches of texture through rug finishing techniques such as hand carving, pile heights, weaving techniques and many different yarn materials.

4_CONSTRUCTION

We offer flat weave, tufted and hand knotted rug constructions and work with some of the world's best makers to achieve the highest quality rug. You can rest assured that your rug will be fair trade, and ensure this by working with non-profitLabel STEPwho take an on-the-ground approach to monitoring healthy working conditions for our weavers.
