Candy Carpet

The Sweet as One exhibition in Chengdu, China featured a carpet made from 13 tonnes of candy. That's a lot of sweets!

Seen over on Cover magazine's Facebook page we were astounded by this temporary 'carpet' made entirely from sweets. We can't quite work out whether its the size - 14000ft2 - or tonnes of sweets needed - 13 - that impresses us the most. Created by global artists Craig and Karlfor China's Sweet as One exhibition, over 2,000 volunteers created the carpet by hand, using individual squares of sweets rather like pixels on your computer screen to create the final image that stretched down Chengdu Street. From blooming flowers to pandas and a quite astounding 607 feet long, this was an installation on a grand and rather sugar rush inducing scale.
