The Power of Orange: Henry Holland Studio's Latest Rug Launch

I Feel Love in Orange joins the collection of melting shaped rugs from the Henry Holland Studio Collection.

The design itself is an ode to 90s iconography, with a melting graphic shape that alludes to out of mind experiences. The cheeky I Feel Love slogan as refernce to Donna Summer's 12" vinyl which was the foundation for dance music, the soundtrack of the time. This is nostalgia at its finest.

If you're a fan of unique interior pieces or just on the hunt for that perfect pop of colour in your living space, you're going to love this. We're thrilled to announce the launch of the "I Feel Love" orange rug from Henry Holland Studio, the latest addition to our 10 year anniversary special edition rugs.

The Effect of Orange in Interior Spaces

Orange is one of those colours that can instantly uplift a room. It's bold, warm, and full of energy, making it an excellent choice for adding vibrancy to your home. In interior design, orange is known to stimulate creativity and enthusiasm, making it a popular choice for spaces where you want to foster interaction and lively conversation, like living rooms or kitchens.

When used in moderation or as a statement piece, such as the "I Feel Love" rug, orange can promote a sense of well-being and warmth, creating an inviting and harmonious atmosphere. Whether it's complementing neutral elements or sparking joy through bold accents, orange offers a versatile palette for designers and homeowners alike.

IN CONVERSATION WITH HENRY HOLLAND

What would you bring back from the 90s?

'Turquoise and jade head bag - sports bag, with a zip-off end. I love the colour and brand - very 90’s! Secondly, going out without phones!'

What association do you have with the new colourway, orange?

'Orange is my mum. She was a big fan of colour therapy and orange was her power colour. She she was an ‘Autumn’,  so for me this is a connection to her inner colour and I have really fond memories of mum in orange.'

Fashion versus homeware - where does your heart lie?

'My heart lies in both for sure. Since stepping away from fashion I’m able to enjoy it on a more pure level. Now I love to watch fashion shows, to shop and look at imagery from a pure sense of enjoyment. A part of my heart will always be with fashion. With interiors, having a new medium I’m passionate and engaged with is big for me right now and I’m really loving it, so it’s both really in different ways.'

What is your most treasured possession?

'My gold chain which I wear daily, it’s my mum’s and I've worn it everyday since she passed away. Secondly it sounds shallow but my phone as it’s the window to connecting with the world, my photos and my way of staying connected wherever I am.'

Why do you think handmade pieces are important in the context of the current times?

'Hand making and craft is hugely important because so many different creative mediums and pastimes are dying out and so it’s really important that they remain. Mass production and over manufacturing are rife and so handmaking takes care of the future, there’s no sense of guilt and we aren’t adding to the problem of waste. We have to protect craft!'
