What is a B Corp?
A B Corporation is a business that is certified by measuring a company's social and environmental performance. B Corp businesses are a network transforming the global economy to benefit all people, communities, and the planet.
Why FLOOR_STORY became a B Corp
It all began when we started the journey of reporting our sustainability goals through an annual report. Formalising our goals began to really solidify our vision on what it means to be a responsible and proactive rug company.
Many hands go into the process of rug-making, from the intricate craft of weaving through to shipping and installing a woven rug. We wanted to show that as well as delivering a quality product, we were considering the entire journey of a rug, from working standards to emissions and material impact.
By educating ourselves and our customers on making the most mindful decisions when it comes to buying rugs, we had already set out a lot of the groundwork to becoming a B Corp.
Being a B Corp in 2025
The B Corp movement has grown rapidly in the past few years and now 930,000 people worldwide are working for a B Corp certified business. At FLOOR_STORY we’re more driven by the inclusion of independent businesses within the community than larger companies. It’s about growing in the right direction, in a way that works for all stakeholders instead of a select few.
With this in mind we have continued auditing and questioning the impact of the developments we’ve made over the past year. We will soon release our third Impact Report where we will continue the evaluation of our materials footprint as well as dive deeper into our partnership with fair trade certifier, Label STEP.
By continuously evaluating what it means to be an ethical and value driven business, we strive to continue to act as a ‘force of good’.
