Rounding Up London Design Festival 2023
A recap from our week of collection launches, rug displays and conversations on colour...
And that’s a wrap! Thanks to everyone who came and dropped by to see our rug installation during the week of London Design Festival 2023.
We hope our colourful showroom managed to bust up those persistent grey clouds that summoned London over the week. It was really inspiring to host our community of rug enthusiasts as well as visiting the inspiring spaces of our neighbours.
When we first set out to launch not one but three new rug collections, we thought we may be cutting off more than we could chew - but with thanks to the help from the trifle* creative team along with many others working on this project, we were able to bring a vision to life - multiple in fact.

Our collections included WAVES by Amechi Mandi, CURB by Gill Thorpe and VERSO, designed by Gill Thorpe and woven as part of a partnership with a local Afghan based NGO. Naturally full of texture and with clever curations of palette, our showroom space was licked from floor to ceiling in contemporary and off-piste rug designs.
During the week we hosted two events, a late night on Tuesday and a wonderful colour workshop with Kitty Joseph, Emma Bestley from YesColours and Emily Gordon Smith from Stylus. There was great conversation about colour trends, accessibility to colours, curating palettes and of course, incorporating these ideas into rug design.
This is only the beginning, we’ll continue to deliver creative workshops throughout the year so keep your eyes and ears peeled (or simply sign up to our mailing list).

Moroccan and Turkish knot rugs featuring compositional rug designs which are a direct translation of manhole coverings form the basis of compositional designs in colourful palettes.
