The people over at Design Milk have featured 18 wonderfully coloured rugs that prove a splash of colour can really help to lift even the most carefully considered of interiors, making a real focal point.

Design Milkis one of our favourite places to keep ourselves in the loop on design out there in the big bad world we stumbled acrossthis fab article on 18 wonderfully different rugs that can bring a bold splash of colour to your space.

There's some great blocking going on as well as clever use of pattern that seems to mean a modern feel to most of the rugs featured. Design Milk, calls a rug 'the foundation of a room' and we happen to agree. We love the impact of this colourful geometric rug on the eclectic, Melbourne living room of Simon Griffiths and Melissa Loughnan.

We love the tone this colorful diamond patterned rug sets in this home, designed by Heather Nette King, that's full of rustic and raw finishes.

We think the Harlequin rug from Zazaguna for Brintons should have been right up there in the mix.

It's stunning use of bright acid tones contrasting with grounded blues, greens and reds make for a really contemporary overtone and sense of playfulness that's hard to resist. It's almost as if Zuzunaga has witnessed a digital image in minute pixel-by-pixel detail. Hats off to the Barcelona-borndesigner and collaborator for this wonderful creation that's now available in our store.
