In the making: FLOOR_STORY x Child Studio - Carving

Our 'In the making' series takes you on a tour of our weaving workshops in Nepal where we produce the rugs for our most recent collaboration with Child Studio. After the weaving is complete, loose pieces of yarn are woven back into the rug and the pile shaved. The carving is done by hand with scissors (kaiche) around specific shapes, it can be more or less deep. Any remaining loose fibre is then burnt and swept away.
